Prenatal Yoga
Is it safe to practice yoga while pregnant?
As with any exercise regimen, it is important to check with your doctor first. Once you have her consent, it is important to choose the class you are taking based on your fitness and yoga level. If you have been attending a specific class regularly, then you can continue to take that class. If you are new to yoga, we recommend you begin with a Basic, Power Yoga Basic, Gentle or Slow Flow. Most importantly, tell the instructor that you are pregnant.
Are there poses I should not practice while pregnant?
We recommend that you schedule a private session to go over specific modifications for your yoga practice. You will learn how to adjust your practice in a way that will give you maximum benefit of the pose while keeping your baby safe. Click here for private yoga details and pricing.
How hot is the yoga studio during class?
The studio tends to be between 80-90 degrees during the Power Vinyasa Classes, cooler for the others. Please check with your doctor if you have concerns about the temperature.
Do I need a special Prenatal Class?
No, you do not need a special class. Pregnant women regularly attend all of our classes. Again, be sure to tell the instructor you are pregnant.
